  • ¼ cup powdered sugar 30g
  • ½ cup unsalted butter 113g
  • 4 large eggs 200g
  • ½ cup buttermilk 120g
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract 4g
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder 4g
  • ¼ teaspoon salt 1.5g
  • ¼ cup sliced almonds 21g

Instructions

  • Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). While the oven is warming up, get your 9-inch round cake pan ready and line it with parchment paper.
  • In a big mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until the texture is light and fluffy. This step is key to achieving a soft cake texture.
  • Incorporate the eggs one at a time, fully blending each before moving to the next. Mix in the almond extract for that classic flavor touch.
  • Grab your second bowl, combine the almond flour, baking powder, and salt, and whisk them together well.
  • Carefully combine this mixture with your wet ingredients, adding it in stages along with the buttermilk. Mix until just combined.
