- ⅓ cup Unsalted butter softened
- ⅓ cup Granulated sugar
- ⅓ cup Brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 1 cup All-purpose flour heat-treated for safety
- ⅓ cup Cocoa powder unsweetened
- ¼ teaspoon Salt
- 2-5 tablespoons Milk adjust for desired consistency
- ⅓ cup Chocolate chips
Start by mixing your softened butter, granulated sugar, and also brown sugar until well combined. Mix it for about 1-2 minutes.
Add the vanilla extract and mix until it’s all incorporated.
Add the cocoa powder and a bit of salt. Mix everything together until it’s completely blended.
Slowly add your heat-treated flour, (don’t skip this step!) Heat-treating the flour is super important to ensure it’s safe. Simply pop it in the microwave for about 1-2 minutes, stirring halfway through.
Once it's treated, gently fold it into your mixture until just combined.
Take it slow by adding a tablespoon of milk at a time, stirring as you go, until the batter is just the way you want it.
Toss in some chocolate chips or anything else you're craving! And here you have your edible brownie batter. Enjoy!
- For a vegan version, simply swap the butter for a plant-based alternative and use a dairy-free milk like almond or oat milk.
- I recommend aiming for a good quality cocoa powder.
