Ingredients

  • 1 cup 230g unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup 150g granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup 150g brown sugar (packed)
  • 3 large eggs at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup 90g all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup 45g unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup 175g chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until it becomes golden and releases a nutty aroma. Take it off the heat and allow it to cool for a moment.
  • In a large bowl, whisk the granulated and brown sugar together. Add the eggs and mix until smooth and creamy.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract until fully combined.
  • In another bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Sift to ensure a smooth batter.
  • Slowly fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing just until combined. Avoid overmixing.
  • Add the cooled brown butter to the batter and stir until fully incorporated.
  • Transfer the batter into a greased or parchment-lined pan (9 -13 inch). Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let cool before slicing and enjoying!
